Invest in yourself

I’ve created a little feedback loop that really started to accelerate my professional development and wanted to share it with you.

Many medals

How it came about

I initially set up agilebatman.com on a hosted Wordpress site to share tips about being an agile coach.

I didn’t want to repeat the theory of agile and scrum, this was already widely available. Instead, I wanted to do something slightly different. I wanted to share my experiences of being a scrum master, with real life examples, moving towards being an agile coach.

I wanted to share what I do and why, so that others can join me on my journey, and so that we can learn and improve together.

This has led to some unexpected benefits in my life:

  1. People ask for my help a lot more; I am hugely motivated by seeing others succeed, so this makes me very happy!
  2. When people ask for help, I’ve often already written about it — I can therefore direct them to my article first, then have a great discussion with them afterwards. This saves me significant time not having to repeat the same information over and over again (and it also generates ideas for future articles I haven’t written yet)
  3. It’s accelerated my own leanring. I’ve always taken a small out of money and put it into a separate pot…
